Our Vision and values
The Foundation aims to support one family at a time, providing monthly financial assistance for 6 months. Each family receives £100, equivalent to GHS, with £85 allocated directly to the widow or single mother, and the remaining portion covering the Debrah Foundation team’s transportation and visitation costs in Ghana.
Given that the average living wage in Ghana is around 900GHS per month, the £100 contribution significantly adds to the household income, offering vital support. To qualify, the widow or single mother must have an existing source of income, no matter how small. The monthly funds are designed to be reinvested into their business, promoting growth and long-term financial stability for the family. This approach ensures the woman is directly responsible for managing the funds, fostering accountability and sustainability.
The goal of this intervention is to alleviate the financial burdens that single mothers and widows with children face while improving their living conditions. Success is measured by the positive impact on the family’s financial stability and quality of life.
Each month, the Foundation will visit the family, combining financial support with Christian fellowship. Led by the Foundation’s local pastor to the area, these visits include sharing the Gospel, discipleship, and monitoring the progress of the intervention.
At the end of the six-month period, after providing both financial aid and Christian discipleship, the Foundation will move on to support another family in need, continuing the cycle of empowerment and transformation.
